New Boutique Hotel for Pollensa
The extremely photogenic, dare I say instagrammable, centre of the old town of Pollensa, will soon be home to a brand new boutique hotel – the Can Aulí Luxury Retreat. The hotel will be the latest addition to the portfolio of establishments in Mallorca of the well regarded IT Mallorca Unique Spaces company.
The team behind the company, headed by entrepreneur Miguel Conde, his architect wife Cristina Marti, interior designer mother, Cecilia opened their first hotel Can Cera in 2011. Since then they have opened Calatrava, Can Alomar, and Sant Jaume, all in Palma.
Can Auli will be the teams first venture outside the island's capital but will follow the successful pattern of its predecessors; it will be in a wonderfully renovated building of historical and architectural interest, with superb design and attention to detail and with customer service second to none.
I'm confident writing these predictions because I have personal experience of the company's ethos, having stayed several times at Can Alomar on Palma's Plaza del Borne and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my stay – décor, facilities, service, food, convenience and price!
Obviously, the new Can Auli isn't yet finished, so our photos are all computer generated, but give an good idea of how the hotel will look, and of course the facilities will be everything that should be expected in a modern boutique hotel.
Here's what the IT Mallorca publicity department say about it -
“The IT Mallorca hotel and restaurant group will open a new unique space in the magnificent Pollença area in March 2020, thereby consolidating its plan for sustained growth. Can Aulí, the group’s first establishment outside the city of Palma, blends tradition, respect for the original Majorcan structure of the building and a spectacular design with elegant lines, organic textures and sober colours. A unique space in keeping with the group’s pursuit of quality that aims to provide special settings and excellent hospitality. It will have 21 rooms and create new jobs.
The new hotel and its brand culture will revolve around a healthy lifestyle, a concept that is becoming increasingly important in our society, serving environmentally friendly food made from organic produce and promoting activities such as hiking, cycling and respect for the natural environment surrounding the establishment.
Pollença is a small municipality in the north of the island, with charming cobbled streets surrounding the main square, which is brimming with cafés, restaurants, bars and a lively social scene. The municipality also has an attractive small port that has become its main attraction, the famous Port de Pollença.”
I had a quick look at our booking site and found 3 nights for 2 people from 20th April 2020 priced from €537 for the most 'basic' accommodation. If you really want to treat yourselves there are super suites available at higher prices.....
All in all, it'll be a great place for a super break, with the town centre of Pollensa chock full of bars, restaurants, quirky shops, and historical landmarks, and of course easy access to the Sierra Tramuntana mountains or the beaches on the coast.
