If it's September it can only mean that we couldn't wait any longer to sample some German culture, gastronomy and tradition in Palma's version of the Oktoberfest. Yes, from 20th September until 6th October Palma's mini Spanish 'village,' the Pueblo Español will be hosting Mallorca's 9th Oktoberfest.
Based on the big bash in Munich you'll be able to experience the best of Germany all under one roof; giant steins of beer, tons of sausages, fatty pork knuckle, lashings of beer, oompah bands, hats with feathers, buxom barmaids in dirndls, frothy beer, lederhosen, drinking songs, long tables and benches, salty pretzels, and lots of beer to wash it all down!
Based in the Pueblo Español's Sala Magna, its biggest room but with an outdoor terrace, nevertheless the attendance will have to be strictly limited. Whilst entry is completely free, if a large group of you want to go together you can reserve a table by mailing firstname.lastname@example.org but this will only be held for 20 minutes after the allotted time if you don't show.
This is the only way to secure your seats in advance, so turning up at six in the morning and spreading a dozen beach towels over the benches just won't work!
