Son Menut: stay, ride, eat, swim, relax
If you've ever thought of getting the bit between your teeth and sitting tall in the saddle for a spot of equestrianism, then I've got just the place for you. Just imagine waking up to the sunshine in the clean fresh air of the Mallorcan countryside and then saddling up your horse for a trek through the beautiful mountains or along gorgeous sandy beaches. Well that's what's in store for you at the picturesque Son Menut equestrian centre in Son Negre, just 5km from Felanitx.
The nice people at Son Menut have been in the horse game for over 20 years now and have around 90 horses and ponies, provide rural accommodation in the hotel, which has its own restaurant, pool and SPA, set in the rolling Mallorcan countryside.
Whether you're an absolute beginner or an accomplished horseperson you'll find the horse, the teacher or the guide just for you. With a wide range of activities from group and individual lessons starting at just €15 up to a private session of classical training on an Andalusian stallion at €50 (which my wife, who's ridden a bit, says is excellent value) there's something for everybody.
However, it gets even better for those who can ride as Son Menut organises and guides a couple of fantastic excursions – a full day in the mountains for €100 and a full day beach trip for €120 – both of which include lunch! They even do full week's packages of hotel stay, lessons and excursions for those who want to spend all their time in a pair of chaps! Tip – take them off in the Jacuzzi.
Tempted? You'll find all the details of the lessons and excursions on their website and if you'd simply like to book a stay there, click here Mallorca Spotlight Accommodation.
