Great dance shows at the Auditorium
Fans of music and dancing have a great week in prospect in Palma as the city's auditorium has a bit of a dance spectacular on stage from today. I wrote some while ago that the traditional New Year's Waltz Strauss festival and ballet would be appearing today (2nd January) so you had plenty of time to get your tickets and your one-two-threes organised!
Well, tomorrow the high stepping continues when the Moscow Ballet pays a two day visit to Palma, giving three performances;
3rd January – 18:00, The Nutcracker and 21:00 Swan Lake
4th January – 19:00, The Nutcracker
Tickets range from €20 to €39 and are well worth the price. I've seen this company a few times and am actually going to see them again tonight in Ibiza. They're a small, but well drilled company of excellent dancers who obviously keep costs down by using pre-recorded soundtracks to dance to rather than a live orchestra. Despite this the shows are really good and it's just incredible to watch how much discipline and control the young dancers have.
On Friday, the performance couldn't be more different – It's a 30 strong troup of Irish dancers and musicians called Gael Force who'll be bringing tons of energy to the stage. From lilting ballads – take your hankies – to all action songs from the Emerald Isle, the drums, pipes and fiddles will have your toes tapping as the dancers tie their legs in knots with their hands by their sides. Tickets for this 21:00 performance are all €42 and you can buy them online following this link – Auditorium dance tickets.
