The Botanica Insolita flower (and more) show returns
The rather swish Puerto Portals lifestyle and yacht port becomes Puerto Petals this weekend when Botanica Insolita returns for a fourth successive year. It's the go to event in Mallorca's flower, gastrobotany, ecological food, gardening, and decoration landscaping calendar and one you shouldn't miss if you're in Mallorca at the moment.
To set the scene, Puerto Portals celebrates 30 glorious years of upscale existence this year and has been a haven for not only super duper yachts, but fashion stores and a plethora of rather nice restaurants and bars – just the sort of place we'd all like to frequent if we were just a bit richer.
From Friday 27th May to Sunday 29th, the whole area will be stuffed full of plants and flowers which will feature large in the workshops, demonstrations, and competitions taking place in the show's four sections;
Botanica Insolita – plants, horticulture, flowers and gardening
Creative Nature – landscaping, sustainable architecture, renewable energy, recycling and garden design.
Biomarket – ecological and botanical products for sale
Gastronomy – gastro-botany, street food, vegetarian and vegan food
It's an ideal opportunity for nature lovers from colder climes to see just how plants cope with our sunny Mediterranean climate. It's also an idea opportunity for all of us – young and old – to have a really good time in the entertainment programme laid on by the organisers; the kids have gardening workshops, yoga classes, storytelling and concerts whilst lucky grown ups can veg out at the street food area, show-cooking demos, gin tastings, live music concerts, musical vermouths, yoga master-classes and many more surprises!
There's a detailed programme of vents at the show on the Puerto Portals website, from where our photos are taken, have a look so you don't miss anything that might take your fancy!
