Water sports, music, fashion and lots of lovely sea food
It's the third annual Can Picafort sea festival this weekend when for two days you can try out or practise water sports for free and fill yourself to the gills with seafood. It's the council's idea to give everybody a chance at sports both on, and under, the water with scuba diving, paddle surf, kayaks, lasers and a banana boat available!
As well as the liquid fun, there will be tons of seafood up for grabs as the towns restaurants and bars go to town serving up tapas and pinchos of squid and other marine delicacies in the Plaza Cervantes where they've set up a dozen stalls and in the restaurants themselves around the resort.
Foodies will be delighted to hear that super chef Koldo Royo will be giving a showcooking demo of some of his best creations at 18:00 on Saturday in the Plaza followed by a tapas competition.
To keep us going throughout the days there will be lots of entertainment including live music, DJs and a catwalk fashion show put on by Can Picafort's clothes retailers.
The dates for your diary are Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd May on the seafront near the Nautical Club in Can Picafort from 10:00 all day. You can see the detailed programme of events in Catalan (it's easy enough to decipher) by clicking the link.
