Palma Superyacht Show

Over 60 sleek vessels plus food, drink and fun at the port

Palma is one of the most important harbours in the Med, and in summer the world as the yachting fraternity flock here for the perfect sailing conditions and the best apres sail in Europe. The superb port facilities, prevailing winds and excellent gastronomy and night scene in Palma make it a magnet for the wet set.

A good illustration of this importance is the annual Palma Superyacht Show for sleek sailing vessels and motor powered launches over 24 metres in length. It's first and foremost a trade show where nautical business come to see, be seen and make contacts (and sales) and has drawn over 60 superyachts for sale or charter this year.

The good news is that it's open to the public so that we can gaze on the millions of Euros' worth of seagoing real estate and imagine which one we'd buy if we won the lottery for several weeks on the bounce! The show also has a certain amount of social activity with super chef Marc Fosh and his Michelin star in charge of his pop up Blue Cafe and an intriguingly titled Fun Fair by Port Adriano whose exact details are shrouded in mystery.

The shows on from 28th April to 2nd May (which is a public holiday) at the Port Vell development more or less directly opposite the cathedral. With its swish new high level board-walk and high end eateries (I have to say that Mar de Nudos is my personal favourite) the Port Vell is well worth during the rest of the year with great views of all the gleaming yachts moored alongside.
