The band celebrate their 30th anniversary with a gig in Palma
Mick Hucknall, flame haired Manchester songster, and his band Simply Red will be making a return to Palma on their 30th anniversary 'Big Love' tour this summer. They'll take to the stage at Palma's Plaza de Toros on the 20th August, the same venue as their last concert here in 2008 when 8,000 appreciative fans including the now King and Queen of Spain, Felipe and Letizia, filled the arena.
To mark the anniversary of the release of their first album 'Picture Book' in 1985 the band have released a compilation of their best songs and greatest hits called 'Big Love.' They have also embarked on a world tour to promote the album and say a big thank you to all their fans which includes only two gigs here in Spain.
If you don't know him by now, Mick, with his trademark soul voice has sold over 50 million records worldwide including Holding back the Years, Stars, and Something got me Started. The promoter of the concert reckons that the acoustics of the bullring will be just perfect to showcase Mick's superb voice to full effect and a good night for all is promised.
The details of the concert are;
Palma Bullring, 20th August 2016. - Doors open at 19, support Band at 21 and Simply Red at 22, so no need to worry about sol o sombra.
Tickets cost from €150 for the very special VIP areas, but if Money's too tight to Mention, normal seats cost €65 and it's €50 to stand on the sand.
