Glorious food in the four corners of Mallorca
Today we have news of some great culinary offers in the four corners of Mallorca, so no matter where you are, there's somewhere fairly close for a good old food fiesta. So, in no particular order, let's see what's happening island wide!
Calvia has its usual autumn food spectacular when every Friday this month 57 restaurants in the borough cook up special meals for very reasonable prices, €10, €12 and €16 for a three course meal. They even have special meals just for kids available both at lunch and dinner.
Each area of Calvia has its own night, so in theory (if you're on a long holiday) you could take advantage of them all;
9th Oct - Santa Ponsa-Costa de la Calma
16th Oct - Peguera-Cala Fornells-El Toro
23rd Oct - Portals-Cas Català-Illetes-Bendinat-Costa d’en Blanes
30th Oct - Palmanova-Son Caliu-Magaluf-Son Ferrer

Diagonally opposite to Calvia, Cala Ratjada has its very own fresh fish weekend when over three nights the port area of town becomes seafood central with a variety of food and live entertainment until the wee small hours of the morning.
On Friday 9th October there's a tapas competition with 11 stalls from local restaurants and bars competing to give us the best economically priced tapa in town. On Saturday the local fishermen cook up a gigantic Paella for 1000 people for only €3 (yes three) per portion. Sunday is a very special day, with the traditional Llampuga (Maui Maui or Dolphin Fish) fest where 21 stalls have some fantastic dishes on offer for only €2 (yes two) along with live music and fireworks at 22:30.
Heading south, Porto Petro has its own foodie heaven weekends as every Friday and Saturday in October 8 of the towns best restaurants have excellent, traditional local food on special offer; three courses and a drink for only €12.90!
Finally, in the north west, Puerto Pollensa has its regular Thursday night Tapas route where nine bars in the town have a variety of tapas on sale at the low, low price of €2 each plus a free wine or beer. A good deal if ever there was one!
