Texan Blues guitarist's concert in May
The living proof that White men can play the Blues, Johnny Winter will be in Palma on May 17th for his a concert at the Es Gremi Music Centre. It's part of a tour which sees him play the big cities
in Spain – Bilbao, Madrid and Barcelona – so the 70-year-old's appearance on the island is a coup for Es Gremi to say the least.
Born in Texas, John Dawson Winter III has been playing Blues and Rock from an early age and is easily recognisable by the albinism condition he shares with his blues brother Edgar. He reached the
height of his fame in the late 60's when he played Woodstock, produced Grammy award winning albums for his hero Muddy Waters and was ranked 63rd in Rolling Stone's list of '100 Greatest Guitarists
of All Time.'
Tickets for the gig start at €25 and go up to €60 for the VIP area (I bet they didn't have one of those at Woodstock) and can be bought online at the "http://esgremi.com/agenda/evento/2014-05-17/johnny-winter-es-es-gremi/" target="_blank">Es Gremi site.
