We're all familiar with the tapas concept, small portions of fantastic food which you can taste, try, mix, match and share with friends in relaxed, sociable surroundings and which are ideal fare
for solitary diners. Well, one Palma bar has advanced this concept and introduced it, along with some modern retail technology, to wine!
Wineing, in Palma's old town Llonja area, makes sampling wine a cinch! They've got around 48 bottles of wine connected to computer controlled optic measures so
that you choose how much or how little you want – there are 3 sizes, small medium and large – of whichever wine you want. How does it work? Easy, you get a chip card from the bar, insert it in the
machine and choose what you want. A record is kept of all you've sampled and at the end of the evening all you have to do is pay!
The great selection of wines from Spain and all over the world is even better when complimented by some of the inventive tapas (photo) and bistro type dishes that wineing serves up from its small,
but perfectly formed kitchen. I'm rather partial to the cod in tempura batter myself, but don't just take my word, as the bar has won many awards in the various tapas and wine tasting events that
are held in Palma throughout the year!
Wineing is at Calle Apuntadores 24, Palma De Mallorca.
Open 17:00 - 00:00.
